It appears to be equipped with an outdoor stove, as well as an indoor stove and kitchen sink
I love the rustic appeal of the blue steps...
We could be the local "Mom and Pop" eatery...oh I guess one of us will surely need to learn to cook...that may be a problem...
What do you think?
Nah.. me neither!
When I first started to read, I though that would be a great idea and kind of fun to do...hubs would be the one wanting to take on the diner....I'd be pumping the gas. Then I saw the pics. Nope...don't see too much traffic either ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, where's your sense of adventure?! LOL! I do believe that's the first time I've seen a pink stove. I like the blue steps. Your new slogan could be "Eat here. Get gas." Okay, it's been done before, but still funny. See the sign in Tipton, Indiana http://tinyurl.com/p48r2l
ReplyDeleteYes, it really exists; we've driven by it before.
Cute post - enjoyed it!
I also was thinking that it would be fun! Every time my OH makes an excellent dinner, I always tell him that he could open his own restaurant!
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, looking at the place, a little rundown, probably too much work!!
Sounded like fun for a second there!!! Way to much work getting the place ready! Love the new header.
ReplyDeleteI say you hold out for a little E. Wa vineyard! Wouldn't that just be the bee's knees?! :) I love it over there too.
ReplyDeleteEastern Washington sounds wonderful, and I am with you on the "idea" but everytime I stumble on something like this, I too end up being slapped with the reality of $$$ to really get it up and running LOLO. Nice dreams tho! LOVE YOUR HEADER TOO!
ReplyDeleteBefore you do anything...ask your accountant!!! If he is any good he will tell you that there is NO other business that goes out of business faster than a restaurant!!!
ReplyDelete"We" are in the restaurant/hotel business and believe me, everyone of your employees will figure out how to steal from you, even if it means they don't charge for the coffee for a bigger tip! Oops...there goes your profit! Is it big enough for a bed and brk-fast...more control for you and 2 people could do the work, In restaurant you will need many more people!!!

ReplyDeleteI hope you weren't inside when you took the stove shot. It's a wonder you didn't drop through the floor! But makes for a nice blog and photo fodder! LOL!
ReplyDeleteEdited from above - lousy spelling issues!
Really.. when we end up there.. we will NOT be running a diner.. this was mostly for fun.. cause I love the pictures! My husband just had to poke around when he saw this abandoned old Drive In!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are not serious - been there, done that and will never do it again. It was a 24-7 job. Like being married to every customer without any enjoyment - for me at least.
ReplyDeleteI'm like your husband - I would have to explore it.
Great post.
Your new primary photo is the best! The diner looks a little scary, but was probably a blast to explore. Too bad a cute little place like that is now all alone and rotting.....
ReplyDeleteDo it...only...if you're in a drugged haze, that you'll never come out of!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, WOW!!! TOTALLY!!! It would only cost 1/2 a billion dollars to bring it up to code, but it would be SOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it! :)
ReplyDeleteThis was great...made me laugh! I actually had a house that had not only a pink stove, but pink metal cabinets and glass tile walls and ceilings. That is until the contractor tore it all out and put in a new kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I'm a newbie, and I really appreciate your comment.
geee when I first read this on facebook. I did not see the pictures...now I see you were joking. I surely wondered who you were going to get to cook.
ReplyDeleteTo think, this was someone's dream of years gone by. At the time, it probably seemed like a good idea, but roads, change, populations move away, and it just doesn't work out. We have so many abandoned places around here that were created as fifties joints with flat roofs, looking like the old dairy queen buildings. A fun blog.
