Air Conditioning.. a blessing to have!

I love the warm weather, I love the blue sky's, and the warmth of the sun outside.
I also love coming into a nice cool house!

We have a heat pump which is supposed to be very energy efficient, it includes Air Conditioning, and that alone was worth going that route.

Here in the PNW many people think you don't need it, air conditioning I mean. But it only takes a handful of 80-90 degree days in a row, with some hot evenings while trying to sleep, to make a believer out of them!

I love the fact that I actually can sleep at night, and go to work feeling like I got some sleep. I really feel for the folks I work with who come in exhausted, because it was to hot to sleep in their house.

I am thankful for my heat pump- :)!

  1. I agree! A day like today makes me very happy that we can all sleep in sleepers if we want...won't be to hot out our house either!

Better go slather yourself in sun screen so you don't get a burn!

  3. We haven't turned our air on yet this year, have been toughing it out! But today we didn't need it at all, it's been in the 50's and I don't even want to open the windows! I am hesitant to turn the air on because once I do, I think I will be less likely to want to be outside much in the heat because it will be nice and cool in the house lol!

  6. Oh man, I am with you on the air conditioning! My condo gets extremely hot in the summer - I like heat, but not when I am trying to sleep! I say Hoorah for air con!

  8. My other half just mentioned air conditioning tonight. Wish we had it. I am not sure how hot it got today, but it was HOT! My house is killing me right now, with fans going and windows open, not helping!

  9. We don't have a heat pump, but have a couple air conditioners in the windows. Couldn't sleep in our room if it wasn't there and we also run a big fan in there! It is the warmest room in the house!

  10. What did folks do back when A/C didn't exist? gah! hehe!

When we lived down in Rio Rancho, near Albuquerque, we turned on the Evaporative Cooler in June and had it on until September. (A/C is not typical in the Southwest desert because it's so dry. The swamp cooler runs water over pads that have air blown over them and they blow cold moist air into the house. Much more comfortable than A/C)

But up here at 7,000 ft in the mountains, we rarely ever turn it on. Last summer we had it on for less than a week, and only during the middle of the day. The nights are always cool, in the 50-60's all summer long. And no humidity...just noce cool breezes blowing through the windows.

I'm grateful for cool mountain breezes all summer long. :D

  11. Oh I am definitely an AC girl!!! Couldn't be any other way as my Hubby is a Commercial Heating and Air Tech. and also we have a residential heating and air company!! I do seem to find that mine usually gets fixed last if there is a problem though, because he is so busy with everyone else LOL!!

  15. I love my AC - we have it on almost all the times because the air quality and my allergies make it impossible for me to sleep!
