Quotable Sunday.. when is it really failure??

I think this is always a fun Sunday challenge from ...
A Daily Dose of Toni
Toni has encouraged us to find some themes or authors to quote...

Today.. since we are small business owners, and failure is always a possibility in many ways from small to large.. I have chosen the topic of failure.. or is it?

Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.

If there exists no possibility of failure, then victory is meaningless.

A failure is a man who has blundered but is not capable of cashing in on the experience.

Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.

Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.

The only real failure in life is the failure to try.

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.

Life’s real failure is when you do not realize how close you were to success when you gave up.

Success builds character, failure reveals it.

There are no failures - just experiences and your reactions to them.

Failure is the tuition you pay for success.

A man may fall many times, but he won’t be a failure until he says that someone pushed him.

Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.

You cannot do wrong without suffering wrong.

And my favorite is:

He who fails to plan, plans to fail.

  1. Excellent quotes. I find "failure" to be an interesting concept. When children are learning to walk, we applaud their "failure," and are thrilled to see them trying to learn. But the older we get, the more we attach "shame" to the falling down bit! Your quotes are a good reminder to avoid "falling" into that pit!
Have a great weekend Jan. Hope you are getting nice weather - we continue to experience snow flurries! YIKES!

  5. I love your last one. If you do not try and if you fail try again. I am not sure who says this but I have heard it a lot. Happy Sunday.

  11. What wonderful quotes! They remind me of one of my favorite scenes in the kids' movie "Meet the Robinsons", where the whole family cries!, "Yay! Congratulations, you failed!" and then everyone sings, "Kee-eep moo-oving for-ward! Kee-eep moo-oving for-ward!" ;)

  13. Lots of great quotes here. My hubs has his own "small" business and after many years of success, with this economy right now, we are taking a few hits. We'll get through it though.
